In a feat of amazing coincidence, just after talking about the renegade this morning I went down to get my camera gear of out my car and discovered this happy pair. The renegade is larger than I though; Its not that the Juke is a big car, but I just assumed the Renegade was much smaller than this. UPDATE: So I wanted to know how big the renegade was compared to an XJ Cherokee and here is what I found.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Wow, that’s pretty incredible. A couple of notes:
1. the XJ is much more powerful for its weight
2. the XJ ground clearance is measured at the diffs, the renegade is smooth on the bottom so its measurements are basically uniform
3. The XJ would probably kill you in a crash
4. the XJ engine was up 2 cylinders and 1.6 liters up and WAY heavier. It was also much thirstier.
5. The XJ featured a dual range transfer case with true low range, the renegade does not.

I’m seeing a lot of those lately, even at the beach, I imagined it would be a sales flop in Brazil, but no, people a buying tons of them, more than the new HRV probably.

I was shocked too, I thought it was Panda 4x4 sized. It’s not that far off my in laws RAV 4.

I know the Juke isn't big, but damn. I thought the Renegade was pretty small. I'm curious what a Renegade parked next to a Wrangler would look like now.

That’s the cleanest, most brightly lit parking garage I’ve ever seen.

The Renegade also belongs in The Louvre by comparison.

It’s funny, I didn’t think the Renegade was as large as it was until I test drove it Saturday (not sure if you saw my write up). One was parked next to the new Cherokee and it was very similar in size, just a shorter length. Sitting in one felt larger than I anticipated as well.

So, the Renegade is too big? Or should the new Cherokee (Cher-yucky) have been called the Renegade and the Renegade the Cherokee (or any other name, like resurrecting the Liberty name, or splitting up the Patriot and Compass to be distinctly separate vehicles)? Both new models are FWD-based with surprising off-road capabilities, while - to me - a modern Cherokee should have been a slightly smaller and less fancy version of the Grand Cherokee, as it was before and for the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer.

It’s not the name, it’s just that it’s bigger than I thought

Yeah, it's just surprisingly close in size.
